Home Ignition Zone Evaluator Training
Who We Are
The City of Glendale Fire Department and the Recreation Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains (RCD) are partnering to provide the opportunity for Glendale residents to receive training to become a Home Ignition Zone Evaluator.
This program will train you to become a defensible space evaluator who can visit homes to review defensible space and home hardening principles while providing specific recommendations for properties.
Creating defensible space and hardening homes against the threat of wildfire are key ways to minimize the impact of wildfire and increase community resiliency.
Training is free of chare and offered on an as need basis provided by RCD.
