Glendale Wildfire Preparedness Training
Saturday June 24 | 9-5PM
Presented by The Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains (RCDSMM) in association with Glendale CERT
This FREE course teaches residents how to reduce the risk of ignition at the property scale by implementing home hardening and fire-wise landscaping based on current fire science findings.
During the training, participants will learn how to conduct a wildfire home evaluation and provide practical advice to residents of high fire risk areas.
The training includes a classroom session (5hr) and a practicum (2hr) where participants can apply the knowledge they have learned and practice evaluating a house for wildfire preparedness. The course will be presented by a Certified Wildfire Mitigation Expert.
To become a Wildfire Home Evaluator with the RCDSMM, you must complete this training and shadow two home evaluations with an experienced evaluator.
This training will be held in-person at Glendale Fire Station 21 on Saturday, June 24th from 9am to 5pm.
